Dear Parents and Guardians, We want to share with you that the isolation and quarantine period for students and staff members sick with COVID-19 or considered a close contact has been reduced to five days. Yesterday, the Illinois Department of Public Health, Illinois State Board of Education and Iroquois County Health Department announced that the agencies have adopted CDC guidance for P-12 schools that halves the isolation and quarantine period. The Centers for Disease Control updated its guidance for P-12 schools on January 6. As a result, effective immediately, Central CUSD # 4 will implement the updated guidance. As soon as possible, we will contact staff, students and families who are currently impacted by a quarantine with a revised return to school plan. Thank you for your cooperation as we implement the changes. Sincerely, Tonya Evans

Dear Parents, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family. Sadly, there have been tragic events with district families this past week. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Nick Koch, a graduate of Central High School and talented high school athlete, had returned to us this fall serving as our athletic trainer for Central High School and Nash Middle School. Nick is survived by his wife, Jenna Felesena Koch, and three beautiful children. The family requested for Nick's services to be held at Central High School. To accommodate, there will not be school or remote instruction provided in all of our schools on January 6. This will also allow staff and students the opportunity to attend the services. We will have a normal school day on January 5. School will resume on January 7. Thank you for your cooperation as we help the family during their time of loss. Please also keep Tyler Bailey, a former CHS graduate, in your thoughts and prayers as he was one of the officers shot in the line of duty on Wednesday. Sincerely, Tonya Evans
