National Technical Honor Society Inductees

Eight Central High School seniors were recently inducted into the Kankakee Area Career Center Chapter of the National Technical Honor Society.

Hope Albright, daughter of Angel and Ryan Albright of Chebanse, is a second-year cosmetology student.

Blaike Archer, son of Nicole and Troy Archer of Chebanse, is a second-year medical terminology student.

Karmen Cody, daughter of Maegan and Aaron Cody of Clifton, is a second-year EMT B and fire rescue student.

Halie Eldridge, daughter of Lacy and Jerry Eldridge of Chebanse, is a second-year foundations of education student.

Isabelle Hemp, daughter of Katie and Tony Hemp of Chebanse, is a second-year multimedia production student.

Carlie Malmer, daughter of Danelle Belcher of Ashkum and Adam Malmer of Chebanse, is a second-year cosmetology student.

Cassandra Marion, daughter of Colleen and Robert Marion of Clifton, is a second-year engineering and design student.

Sydney Rohlwing, daughter of Amy and James Rohlwing of Ashkum, is a second--year multimedia production student.

Karmen missed the induction ceremony because she was in Bloomington preparing for Friday's IHSA Girls State Wrestling Meet.

There were 82 inductees from 14 schools. Central's eight trailed only Bradley-Bourbonnais  (17), Beecher (11) and Herscher (9).

In order to be inducted, the students had to have met the six following criteria:

  • Second year senior enrolled at KACC in good standing.
  • Maintain a 3.67 grade point average for three semesters.
  • Maintain a 4.0 grade point average in employability for three semesters.
  • Receive approval and recommendation from KACC instructor(s).
  • Participate in at least
    • 15 documented hours of volunteer activities throughout the community
    • 15 documented hours of job shadowing
    • 15 hours of internship during high school
  • National NTHS Bylaws will be followed as a guideline for all KACC NHS students.

The eight were inducted at an induction ceremony on Thursday, February 22 at River Valley Christian Fellowship. Last year, 10 Central students were inducted.
