Dear Parents and Guardians,

Good afternoon!

As a district, we have been working collaboratively on a reopening plan since late May. We have reviewed the recommendations and guidelines received from the Illinois State Board of Education and Illinois Department of Public Health. Plans were presented to the Board of Education at the meeting last night and a plan for the start of year was determined.

The details of the plan are as follows:

Phase 1:    Student attendance  8:15 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.

11:30 Chebanse dismissal/12:00 P.M. dismissal for Nash Middle School/Central High School

Additional activities to be completed at home to complete 300 minute requirement

                                Grab and go lunches offered

                                Timeline – August 20 – September 11, 2020

Phase 2: Student attendance 8:15 – 1:30

1:00 Chebanse dismissal/1:30 dismissal for Nash Middle School/Central High School

300 minute requirement completed at school

                                   Lunches provided at school

                                   Timeline – September 14- October 2, 2020

Phase 3: Student attendance from 8:15 – 3:00

300 minute requirement completed at school

                             Lunches provided at school

                             Timeline – Begin October 5, 2020

· Students and staff will be required to wear masks/face coverings per ISBE and IDPH requirements on buses and in order to enter all buildings.

· Social distancing in buildings will be followed to the best extent possible, following the ISBE guidelines.

· Student desks will be spread out and any unnecessary furniture will be removed from classrooms.

· Increased sanitation measures will be put into place.

· IDPH and Iroquois County Health Department are in charge of communicable disease protocols that will be followed and will complete any contact tracing that is needed.

· Parents will be required to self-certify students bus riders prior to sending them to school each morning. Temperature checks will be completed for students who are not self-certified.

· Bus routes will be limited to 50 students on each route and masks will be required.

· When students eat lunch at schools, groups will be limited to 50 in each area.

We were instructed in the most recent document to provide remote learning options to those parents and students that are interested. We will be sending out a survey for you to complete indicating your choice for each child whether it is in-person instruction, remote learning, or home school. We will ask that you provide us with information for each one of your students so we can plan appropriately at each building.

We appreciate your patience as we work to provide education for all of our students. Additional changes may continue to come and we will do our best to meet those requirements and keep you informed of any such changes.

We look forward to the students’ return! Thank you for your support as we begin the new year.
