Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope that you have been able to enjoy time with your family this summer. We know that you have many questions about what school will look like as August approaches. Illinois State Board of Education released guidelines on June 25 and has made several updates to that document since.

We are working to develop a return to school plan that follows the guidelines and restrictions from Illinois State Board of Education and Illinois Department of Public Health.

We have been in contact with both Iroquois and Kankakee County Health Departments for information to develop protocols for notification and quarantine procedures if needed.

We do know that masks are required for students and staff to wear. This is a requirement from the Illinois State Board of Education and Illinois Department of Public Health. We know that some of you expressed concerns about the wearing of masks for your children but please understand we do have to follow the requirements.

We are planning for the return of students with in person instruction but are also considering a shortened school day to start the year.

We plan to share specific information with you after the July Board of Education meeting. We know this may not be the year you had planned for your child but we ask for your cooperation in trying to make the situation the best we can for our students.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Sincerely,

Tonya Evans
