National Honor Society inducts 18

November 07, 2019

The Central High School National Honor Society welcomed 18 members on November 5. The three NHS officers conducted the ceremony, with one serving as mistress of ceremonies and two reading the four principles of the organization. The 18 inductees demonstrated excellence in character, scholarship, leadership and service. New members include the following:

The Noosphere Chapter of the National Honor Society was established in 1960.  

National Honor Society was established in 1921 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. By 1930, more than 1,000 chapters existed. Today, National Honor Society chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. territories and Canada, with an estimated one millions participants. According to the National Honor Society website, doctors, actors, actresses, astronauts, politicians, award winners, professional athletes and one U.S. President (Gerald Ford) are NHS members.
