Kankakee Area Career Center inducts seven Central students

Seven Central High School seniors were recently inducted into the Kankakee Area Career Center Chapter of the National Technical Honor Society.

Alicia Avila, daughter of Marita Avila of Chebanse,FelcF is a second year cosmetology student.

Ian Clevenger, grandson of John and Connie Clevenger of Kankakee, is a second year automotive technology student.

Travis Felchlia, son of Tim and Tricia O’Connor of Chebanse, is a second year construction student.

Ray Odle, son of Jennifer Odle of Chebanse and Ray Odle of Chebanse, is a second year construction student.

Fred Peters, son of Larry and Susan Peters of Ashkum, is a second year welding student.

Jenna Raines, daughter of Jessie and Deann Raines of Clifton, is a second year law enforcement student.

Jason Trumble, son of Deborah Clayton of Chebanse, is a second year automotive technology student.

In order to be inducted, the students had to have met the six following criteria:

  1. Second year senior enrolled at KACC in good standing.
  2. Maintain a 3.67 grade point average for three semesters.
  3. Maintain a 4.0 grade point average in employability for three semesters.
  4. Receive approval and recommendation from KACC instructor(s).
  5. Participate in at least
    1. 15 documented hours of volunteer activities throughout the community
    2. 15 documented hours of job shadowing
    3. 15 hours of internship during high school
  6. National NTHS Bylaws will be followed as a guideline for all KACC NHS students.

The seven were inducted at an induction ceremony on Wednesday, February 27 at the Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School auditorium. Last year, six Central students were inducted.
