Get to Know

by Beronica Sanchez

My name is Mrs. Sanchez. I would like to share a little information about myself with you the readers. I am from Gilman, IL. I am married and have two teenagers. Kristian my son is 19 and my daughter Maya is17 years old. We also have two cats who are very much a part of the family.

I attended Iroquois West throughout my entire adolescent years. I received my Associates Degree from KCC, then transferred to ISU. I graduated from Illinois State University in Bloomington-Normal, in the spring of 2006 with a Bachelor Degree in Special Education and soon thereafter, I pursued an endorsement in Spanish. I also received an ESL endorsement in 2014.

I was the 7th and 8th grade resource teacher at Nash Middle School during the 2007-2009 school years.  I am currently the high school Spanish teacher. This year will be my 9th year at the high school. I am very grateful for the opportunity that I have in teaching your children what is my first language. It is truly inspiring to see how much they will grow in both academics and personality. I look forward to continue teaching them how to speak Spanish. I am also looking forward to getting to know my new freshmen this year. I hope they are as excited to learn, as I am in teaching them, the #1 foreign language in the United States.

Sincerely, Mrs. Sanchez
