Meet Mrs.Brough

Mrs. Brough's Homepage

Hello!

I am Mrs. Brough and I am excited to be a 6th Grade English/Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies teacher for the 2020-2021 school year!

Chebanse was my home as a child and I now live outside of Clifton with my family.  Both of my children, my husband, and I all graduated from Central High School.  I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois and a master's degree from Olivet Nazarene University.  This will be my 23th year of teaching in this district.

I love to read and write so I hope to instill some of that in my students.  I want the students to find the joy in learning and take it with them in all subject areas throughout their lives.

In addition to my classroom, I am the middle school play director.

Play auditions are held in December and practice begins right after winter break. The performance will be Friday, February 26, 2021.  I am so pleased with the number of middle school students who audition each year as well as the number who participate on crew.  My goal is to give them the experience of performing on stage complete with makeup, costuming, lights, and sound.

Crew members have the opportunity to work backstage, paint sets, collect props, make posters, and work on makeup, lights, and sound as well. High school students mentor middle school students in all aspects of drama.  We perform for the local grade schools so we get the entire school district involved!

As you can tell, I enjoy working with middle school students and I am excited for the new school year!
