Welcome to Preschool!

Hello! My name is Mrs. Kari Monk! This is my 12th year teaching preschool in this district. While teaching here in Ashkum, I have taught all levels of preschool: self-contained special education, blended programs and the at-risk program.

I was born and raised in Kankakee. I attended Central through eight grade then transferred to Bishop McNamara. I received my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Northern Illinois University and my Masters degree in School Improvement Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University. I currently live in Herscher with my husband Warren. Warren graduated from Central School District. Warren farms land in rural Ashkum and we own and operate Airstyke which is a crop dusting company.

I love showing young children that learning is fun. I am very honored to be teaching your child and seeing so many familiar faces everyday.

I look forward to getting to know each student and their families.
