KCC Offers FAFSA/Scholarship Information Session and Application Labs

FAFSA Application Opens October 1, 2016

     It is time to apply for financial aid for students who will be attending college in the Fall of 2017.  The Kankakee Community College's Office of Financial Aid and KCC Foundation will persent a series of free, hands-on workshops to assist students and their families in exploring financial support for college.  Staff members will assist you in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Kcc Foundation scholarship applications.

    The first two programs are the Finacial Aid Info Night/FAFSA Application Workshops hosted by KCC Financial Aid.  These are information sessions that begin at 6:00 pm and FAFSA application workshop begins immediately following the information session.  They will be held on Thursday October 6 and Wednesday, October 19 on the Riverfront Campus in room M120.

    Four programs are planned for the Scholarship/FAFSA Appliction Workshops hosted by KCC Foundation and the Office of Financial Aid.  Staff members are available to provide assistance in completing the FAFSA and KCC Foundation scholarship applications.  This is an open lab.  Please arrive at least 45 minutes prior to the end of the workship.  The workshops will be held on Tuesday, November 1 from 6-8 pm on the Riverfront Campus in room M120; Thursday, November 10 from 6:30-8:30 on the South Extension Center in Watseka; Wednesday, November 16 from 6-8 pm on the Riverfront Campus in room M120; and Thursday, December 8 from 6-8 pm on the Riverfront Campus in room M120.

    When attending any of the workshops please bring the following with you:

  • Federal Student Aid(FSA) ID* user name and password for student and parent (FAFSA) Create yours at:  https://fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm
  • Completed 2015 tax returns. (FAFSA)
  • A list of any extracurricular activities the student has participated in during high school. (scholarship)
  • Contact information of up to trhee references (scholarship)
