Baseball Conditioning

Baseball conditioning has started and has been going on for the past month. Conditioning is for any athlete trying out for baseball this season that is not currently in a winter sport. All athletes present have been given guidelines for the off-season. Each athlete must make 85% of the workouts.
This is a great way for those athletes to get into great baseball shape. Off-season conditioning consists of 3 phases. The 1st phase deals with circuit training in the weight room. This is an excellent way for the athletes to utilize their strength and weight, and make them build explosive movements. The 2nd phase deals with more weight training. However, this phase in the weight room moves to building a little more strength, higher weight and lower repetitions. The final phase is plyometrics or jump training. All lifting will be done with medicine balls or the athlete's own bodyweight. In each phase, we run 2 days a week and lift 2 days a week.
We start at 3:30 on Mondays-Thursdays, and we can get finished anywhere between 4:00 and 5:00.
