New Assistant Principal

August 20, 2014

My name is Brandon Burke, and I am the Assistant Principal here at Central High School and Nash Middle School.  I have been teaching for the last 7 years. I began my career in Watseka, where I taught for 4 years, and the last 3 years were spent in the Prairie Central School District.

I graduated from Prairie Central High School in 2003. After high school, I attended Concordia University in River Forest, where I studied Education and played football. I transferred to Illinois State University after 2 years, where I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in 2007.  I completed my Masters in Educational Administration in May of this year at Eastern Illinois University.

I will be married for 5 years this October to my wife Kenzie. We have an amazing 2 year old son, Tracen. He is full of personality and constantly keeps us entertained. We are expecting baby number two in October. That will be a great anniversary present!

I love working with students and enjoyed the difference I made in their lives while in the classroom. I chose to move into administration because it gives me an opportunity to work with a large group of students, where I hope to impact their lives in a positive way. I will work my hardest to make sure we are doing the best for the kids. I was once told when making a decision, “If it is best for kids, you can’t be wrong!” I will always keep that in mind. I am meeting many new people this year, and have enjoyed my experience so far. Please stop in and meet me or feel free to e-mail or call with questions or concerns.
