Hi, my name is Mrs. Hummel, I am the Librarian at Chebanse Elementary. I graduated from Monmouth College in 1977 with a B.A. and Chicago State University in 2003 with a Master of Library Science. I have been employed with the district for over 17 years.
I have been married to my husband, Marc for over 28 years. We have two daughters, Jennifer and Jessica. Jennifer is an EIU graduate and teaches Kindergarten at Fortin Villa. Jessica is a Freshman and involved with 4-H.

Students have until January 15th to complete their AR points for the 2nd Quarter. Encourage them to read over Christmas break, so they may take tests upon their return. Read together as a family over the long vacation. Everyone have a safe and wonderful holiday season.
Students in Grades 2-4 are allowed to come into library before school and read their AR books.
The Second Quarter AR Party is popcorn/movie. This will occur in January. The classroom and party goals will be coming. We will use a Pioneer theme for the extra incentive in the hallway.
