Happy New Year

Happy New Year to our K2 families. I can't believe how quickly the year is flying by! We have been working so hard to accomplish all of our kindergarten goals. We can name almost all of the letters in the alphabet, and we know most of the sounds too. We can count by 1s, 10s and fives, can read most consonant-vowel-consonant words. If you would like flash cards of numbers, letters or sight words, please let me know and I will be happy to send them home with your child!

In the coming weeks we will be working hard at writing complete and detailed sentences. This is still hard for us, but we have made so much progress already.

Make sure to read at least 10-15 minutes a night with your child. Have them identify letters and words and ask them questions about the story. Asking how and why questions really gets them thinking. You might be surprised at some of the neat thoughts that are running around in their heads!

Enjoy your last few weeks of winter. Spring will be here before you know it!
