HOMEWORK HANGOUT: .Everyone in 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade is invited to attend our Homework Hangout on Tuesday and Thursday after school until
4:30 p.m. with a classroom teacher. You will need a note from your parent/guardian in order to stay after school. Thursday, February 9 will be with Mrs. Curran and Tuesday, February 14 with Mrs. Ponton.
DETENTION: the next detention will be on Tuesday, February 14 in Mrs. Briscoe’s room. This is a change.

REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS TO FOLLOW MORNING PROCEDURES…
- Go to gym
- If eating breakfast, go through back gym door…DO NOT GO TO CAFETERIA IF NOT EATING BREAKFAST…STAY IN GYM UNTIL RELEASED
- NO NASH STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED ON HIGH SCHOOL CAFETERIA SIDE (you are to get breakfast and sit on Nash side) You will receive a disciplinary referral if sitting on the high school side
- If you need to leave gym for any reason, you must have permission to leave.
- Bathrooms: Not allowed to use 8th grade bathrooms in morning. Use bathrooms by front doors.
Did you get a Nook, Kindle or IPAD for Christmas? Did you know that you can download books for FREE through the CCLD website and My Media Mall? Come to the CCLD library on Monday, February 13th at 6:30 pm to learn how to use My Media Mall with your e-device. For more information, contact the library at 694-2800.
YEARBOOK SIGN UPS…we still need 6th grade yearbook workers. If you have internet access at home, you can still sign up.
The first meeting for yearbook will be Monday 2/11 from 3:25-4:15 in Mrs. Regez’s room. Be sure you have a ride waiting for you at that time. Yearbook signups are only open to 2 more 6th graders at this time.
PERMISSION FORMS…Thursday, Feb. 16 is the deadline for all 7th grade students to turn in $1.00 and permission form to Mrs. Sorensen for the field trip to see “Once Upon A Mattress” at ONU on Feb. 23.
As of right now Nash Middle School will be sending over $200 to the Susan G. Comen foundation for breast cancer. Mrs. Ponton will be placing one last order of bracelets, if you would like to order more, please see her and pay before Friday.
Market Day Forms are available in the office. Online orders are due Saturday, February 25th. Pickup is Wednesday, February 29th from 5:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Central High School lobby.
Cosmos soccer sign ups have been extended for another week if anyone would still like to sign up. Registration forms are still available in the office. Any questions can be directed to Andra Adams at centralsoccer09@ymail.com
BUS POSTER CONTEST…the Secretary of State’s office is sponsoring a School Bus Safety Poster Contest. The goal of this contest is to increase student awareness of school bus safety issues. The contest is open to all students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade with four divisions. Cash prizes will be awarded. Stop in the office and ask for the rules and guidelines if interested.

Family Fun-a-thon on Sunday, February 12…Don’t forget to tell your parents to come out for an afternoon of family fun at the Family Fun-a-thon on Sunday, Feb. 12 at Olivet Nazarene University.
There will be lots to do: Watch the 3-on-3 basketball tournament or the talent showcase, learn archery, see Kankakee County’s Canine Cops in action, make your own ice cream and much more. The event runs from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $5; kids 3 and under are free! All proceeds benefit the I-KAN Regional Office of Education’s Life Education programs. See the poster on the office window.

LOST & FOUND… please check out the many new items on the table in the lobby…pe clothes are included.
BOYS SAMS…for grades 5, 6, and 7…first practice will be this Thursday, Feb. 9 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Nash Rocket Center.
GIRLS SAMS…the first practice for girls’ SAMS Basketball will be this Saturday from 9-10 a.m. in the high school for 5th grade girls and from 10-11:30 a.m. for girls in grades 6-8th. The next practice will be Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the high school gym.
PLAY:
CAST…Thurs, Fri: Full Cast practice from 3:30 to 5:30 in the auditorium.
CREW…Meets Thursday ONLY from 3:30-5:00 in the Auditorium. Any student interested in helping with the middle school play may still do so.
BOTH… all t-shirt orders must be placed by Friday. Please see Mrs. Brough if you have questions.
WRESTLING: Thursday, and Friday practice from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday is an Invitational meet at Marseilles. Bus leaves at 6:00 a.m. with meet starting at 9:00 a.m.
BOYS BASKETBALL: We will be taking our part of the props picture next Tuesday, (2-14) from 3:30-4:30 in the cafeteria. This will also serve as our uniforms hand in day. Have the white uniforms, black uniforms, the warm up top and pants, and the practice uniform in a bag to hand in.
STUDENT COUNCIL:
Registration and scrapbooking Committees will meet tomorrow morning at 7:40 in Mrs. Curran’s room. Next meeting will be Feb. 15th until 4:15.
Fannie May orders are in! No need to sort boxes after school. Please pick up your order after school today or tomorrow.
BETA CLUB:
VOLLEYBALL: Games at Cissna Park on Thursday beginning at 6:00 p.m. Bus will start in Chebanse at 4:30 p.m. Practice on Friday from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. Monday 7/8 game at Donovan beginning at 6:00 p.m. Bus will leave starting in Chebanse at 4:30 p.m.
Please Note…The Milford volleyball game on 2/23 starting at 5:00 with the 6th grade game will be played in SHELDON instead of Milford. 7th and 8th grade games will follow also at SHELDON.
6TH GRADE VOLLEYBALL: practice Wednesday and Friday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. 6th grade game on Monday at Nash beginning at 5:30 p.m.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS SHOW CHOIR: Next Competition: Friday, February 17th, Performance time: 6:00 p.m., El Paso. More information will be out soon regarding departure times, etc.
LUNCH TODAY: Corn Dog, Macaroni & Cheese, Green Beans, Diced peaches, milk
