Introduction of the girls

I am excited to say that this 2010 volleyball season has a few new additions to it!

First, the new additions to varsity is a senior, Allix Sullivan and a junior, Lexi Podowicz. Allix is a very hard worker and likes to encourage her teammates. Lexi is a starter for the Lady Comets and will be our libero this season. Lexi is also a very self-disciplined player and is very dedicated to her sport.

The returners for the 2010 season are seniors Sammy Bronson and Adreinne Jordan. I am looking for Sammy to be a huge threat on the right side, as well as Adreinne in the middle. The hand full of juniors are Mallory Gross who I am looking for to be a leader and our setter. Jana Phelps who will be playing outside, but unfortunately was hurt at the Dwight match. Playing her opposite is Kelsey Berggren. My BIG middles this year are Casey Bronson and Brittany Hull. I am looking for them to be a threat as well with their blocking ability. The next player that I want to talk about is Brittany Whybrew. Every coach loves a player like Brew! She can play anywhere and will not complain about it, she will just do it. She started off the season playing right back for Sammy, but since Jana's injury she will be my all-around player on the left side. She really has contributed to the team thus far. One last junior on the roster is Abby Rosenboom. She will be my back-up DS due to her back condition. Lastly, there is one lonely sophomore on the varsity roster, and her name is Casey Widholm. I pulled Casey up for her height and talent. She has not played since her 8th grade year, but she is a natural athlete and will see playing time when a player of mine is struggling a bit. That rounds up my players for this year. I hope to see many fans out this year supporting the volleyball team!

I have high expectations this year for my girls. They are a strong group of girls with a lot of talent. I expect the girls to be in the top 3 for the SVC as well as make it past regionals. They can do and I know they believe they can do it as well.
