Central Success at State Special Olympics

Three students from Central went to ISU in June to compete on the state level for the Illinois Special Olympics. These athletes had to win gold in their events during the Regional games held here at Central in May. Jesse, Nick and Justin brought back 3 gold medals, a silver medal and two 4th place finishes! Jesse was the first to compete from Central in the swimming event. He won a gold and silver in individual events, and a 4th place in the team relay. Justin competed in his first games and had a 4th place finish in softball throw.

We look forward to many more games from Justin, who was our youngest competitor. Nick won two gold medals, one for his 100m race and the other for his running long jump.
