Music Notes from Chebanse Elementary

by Martha Stanton

March 31, 2010

The big news of course, in March, is the 325th anniversary of composer Johann Sebastian Bach's birthday on March 21st.    He was born on March 21, 1685, and died in 1750.  Alas, we did not get to listen to any of his music, but I hope to fit it in after Easter and after the Spring Concert.

The Third and Fourth graders will be presenting their Spring Program on Thursday, April 22 at 6:00 p.m. in the Central auditorium. We have been working on quite a variety of songs.

We finished listening to excerpts from Englebert Humperdinck's Hansel  and Gretel in the kindergarten, acted out Goldilocks and the 3 Bears with puppets in the 1st grade, and read through a short version of Cinderella with the second grade.  I will also be completing simple art projects that go along with our curriculum unit on "Cowboys and the West".
