Within Mathematics, students participated in a fun activity that used the skills they learned throughout the week, and applied them to a fun math activity called "M&M Math Graphs." Students had to predict the total amount of M&M's that were in their bag and how many of each color. Next, students had to open their bag of M&M's and count the actual amount of how many of each color were in their bag and how many in total. Once students completed these tasks, they had to create a pictograph and a bar graph. During this time, students were allowed to eat their M&M's!
It was very interesting seeing the students results. Each package had a random total amount and a random amount of colors. Some students had bags with 38 M&M's while others had 52 M&M's. Students were fascinated by their results and were shocked at the differences amongst one another. Through this fun activity, students not only applied the skills they learned throughout the week, but also had fun completing the assignment!!
