Junior/Parent Meeting

Testing Information and Post-Secondary Opportunities

Dear 11th Grade Students and Parents,


Please join us in the CHS auditorium on Wednesday, January 13th, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss some important testing information and post-secondary opportunities that will be available to our students over the next several months.

The focus of the evening will be on preparing our juniors to succeed after high school. The registration process for the 2010-2011 school year will be explained in the meeting. Registration for juniors will begin on Friday, January 22nd (after Compass testing) and all schedule requests must be completed by Friday, February 12th. We will also have a representative from KCC in attendance to speak about the importance of course scheduling for the senior year of high school and how it relates to success in college. Topics of discussion for the evening will be as follows:

•Registration for 2010-2011
•Graduation Requirements
•COMPASS Testing at KCC (January 21)
•PSAE / ACT Testing (April 28-29)
•PSAE / ACT Preparation Program
•Senior-Year Scheduling
•Remedial Courses at CHS
•Remedial Courses in College
•Questions / Answers


Central High School staff and Kankakee Community College staff will be on hand to answer your questions. We hope that you will be able to attend and we are looking forward to assisting you as you strive to be successful after high school.

This is an excellent opportunity for students and parents to help make the transition from high school to post-secondary life a smooth and productive one.
