I had the pleasure of attending the What's New in Children's Literature workshop this month with some of my other Central colleagues. A numerous amount of wonderful books were introduced and explored. I look forward to purchasing some of these books and using them with our students. I thought you might be interested in the presenter, Peggy Sharp's, top ten books from 2009.
1. Redwoods by Jason Chin
2. Written in Bone by Simon Beckett
3. Yummy by Leslie Patricelli
4. The Lion and the Mouse by Jerry Pinkney
5. Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin
6. Adventures in Cartooning by James Sturm, Andrew Arnold, Alexis Frederick-Frost
7. Anything but Typical by Nora Raleigh Baskin
8. Everything for a Dog by Ann M. Martin
9. Are you a Horse? by Andy Rash
10. Our Children Can Soar by Michelle Cook
"When we give children books, we become part of their future, part of their most cherished memories, and part of their entire life. Children's books changes lives. ~ Anita Silvey
