Chebanse Elementary Music News

Music at Chebanse Elementary is going along "swimmingly" - I have a clever new bulletin board that shows frogs/toads that "hop into music".
Mrs. Hummel and I are doing a unit on The Four Seasons. We are singing songs in class that reflect the season being studied: kindergarten and 4th - summer; first grade - spring; second grade - fall; and third grade - winter.
We have been listening to Gustav Holst's The Planets in the second grade, The Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saens in the third grade, and The Peer Gynt Suite by Edvard Grieg in the fourth grade. The first grade has been singing a number of Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes, and the kindergarten has been singing about a firefly and learning the music routine.
