What is the CARE Group?
The CARE Group is the parent organization of Ashkum PreK and Chebanse Elementary.
We meet 4 times a year and childcare is provided.
What does the CARE Group do?
The CARE Group provides support for the students and staff of the two grade centers. We sponsor assemblies and many activities.
We have several fundraisers throughout the year. We have a Gold Canyon candle sale in the fall and last year we were very successful with a Spring Hill flower sale in the spring.
We host a chili supper during Family Reading Night, for an enjoyable night out.
In December we have our Santa’s Workshop, where local vendors set up at the school to offer gifts at a reasonable price for the students and families to purchase. There is also a silent auction on baskets that each class is asked to donate an item for, a bake sale, and breakfast and lunch items for sale.
In the spring we have the Spring Carnival, with fun and games for the whole family.
We provide extra help to the teachers through P-N-P, Parents in Partnership. On Thursday mornings, parents are invited to meet at in the teacher’s lounge at the school to cut, paste, and copy.
There is so much that the CARE Group does, please check out the contact sheet on the CARE Group site and contact the chairperson listed if you are interested in helping out.
What does the CARE Group do with the money that is raised?
The CARE Group sponsors many assemblies throughout the year. We also purchase many extras for classrooms projects.
In past years we have purchased new playground equipment and supplies. We also added a new blacktop pad on the playground and a climbing wall in the gym last year.
This year we are adding many new things. We have several new pieces of playground equipment being installed and purchased a projector and dance mats for the gym.
How do I get involved with the CARE Group?
Hopefully you joined us for ice cream at the Open House and were able to find out a
little more about us and sign up to help with some upcoming events. If not, please join us at our next meeting or contact one of our officers, from the contact sheet, and let us know what you are interested in.
