From the Dean's Office
by Jim Harkins
July 31, 2008
My name is Jim Harkins, and I am the Dean of Students here at Central High School and the Nash Middle School. I have been teaching Spanish for 14 years, with the last 10 being here at Central High School. So I am very familiar with the Central School District.
I graduated from Iroquois West High School in 1987. Afterwards, I attended KCC for one year, and finished my Degree in Romance Languages in 1993 from Olivet Nazarene University. Upon completing my Bachelor’s Degree, I traveled to Coventry, England to complete my Masters in Biblical Studies. It was there that I met and fell in love with Josephine Blake.
Josephine and I were married in England in 1995 in Diss, Norfolk. We have been married for 13 years and have two wonderful children Abrial 10, and Josiah 7. The children keep us hopping, with their zest for life. What a joy they are! We thoroughly enjoy spending time together and traveling back and forth across the Atlantic to visit friends and family.
I love working with young people, and look forward to this new postiion within the Central School District. We have a lot of new faces in the office this year, so please stop in and meet us. We look forward to working with the community to see the best education for our young people.
Please feel free to e-mail or to call me with any concerns.
