Wendy’s High School Heisman Award
For the past fourteen years, Wendy’s Restaurants have teamed up with the Heisman Memorial Trophy Committee to create the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award. The award honors both male and female high school students who excel in academics, athletics, and student leadership. During these thirteen years schools could only nominate one male and one female athlete. This year we can have as many applicants as meet the eligibility criteria.
Applications may be downloaded from www.wendysheisman.com beginning July 1, 2008. Applications are due by October 1st. Eligibility for the application is limited exclusively to men and women entering their senior year of high school who have at least a “B” grade average and participate in at least one of the 32 sports officially sanctioned by the National Federation of State High Schools. Wendy’s wants to hear from all student-athletes who work hard, are dedicated, and have become role models for underclassmen.
The online nomination form must be completed by the student and reviewed by a high school official no later than the stroke of midnight on October 1. Each student applicant must have their online application reviewed and confirmed by a school representative. Thus the students must complete their application early to allow time for school personnel to review and confirm the accuracy of the data provided.
