Welcome to Health Class

We are off to a great start in Health class 2008! I have all six sections of Health first semester this year so that my second semester will be devoted to Driver's Education.
We have just finished our unit on the various systems of the body and the first unit test is in the past. Students have received daily homework and quizzes and I have encouraged them to keep all paperwork to help them study for the unit tests. The semester exam is composed of questions from the unit tests.
Our current unit is on Nutrition and Fitness, next is the Drug and Alcohol unit, and then we will get to the much anticipated Reproduction unit. Along with the Reproduction unit comes the baby project. Are you ready?! We will end the year with the Red Cross unit and they will go into second semester certified in First Aid and CPR. Please encourage your student to keep up with the homework assignments and projects as they are a significant part of their grade.
Please let me know if you ever have any questions or concerns about Health class. I understand that some of the issues I deal with in my class are sensitive issues to discuss. I feel it is very important that all of my students know that abstinence (from sexual contact, drugs, and alcohol) is the safest and healthiest choice they can make for their life. My entire course works to show them why this is true.
